Ladakh Famous Momos Recipe
LADAKH FAMOUS "MOMOS" RECIPE
Momos ! When I heard this name my mouth starts watering. I am a huge fan rather hunger-than-huge of momos. Momos are one thing that I can have it at any given hour. Momos are steamed dumplings with veg and meat filling.
INGREDIENTS-:
For the wrap
All purpose four- 1 cup
Salt- 2 pinches
Water- as required to make a stiff dough
For the filling
Oil- 1tsp
Butter- 2tbsp
Chopped green chilli- 1tsp
Fine chopped cabbage- 1/4 cup
Fine chopped onions- 1/2 cup
Fine chopped capsicum- 1/4 cup
Fine chopped carrot- 1/4 cup
Salt- as per taste.
INSTRUCTIONS-:
STEP 1 TO MAKE A DOUGH-:
1.) Take 1 cup of all purpose flour and add 2 pinches of salt to it. Make a medium soft dough by adding water gradually.
2.) Apply 1 tsp oil on the dough and knead it for a min. Cover and set it aside for 10-15 mins.
3.) After 10-15 mins knead it again for a min.
STEP 2 TO MAKE THE STUFFING-:
1.) Add 2 tbsp butter.
2.) Add 1 tsp chopped green chilli, 1/4 cup chopped cabbage, 1/2 cup chopped onions, 1/4 cup chopped capsicum, 1/4 cup chopped carrot and salt as per taste. Mix it well. Cover and cook for 10-15 min.
STEP 3 TO MAKE THE MOMOS-:
1.) Take a small portion of the dough and make a thin roundel (around 4-5 inch in diameteusing a rolling pin).
2.) Place some stuffing on the center of the rolled sheet and make a momo shape by folding and gathering half edge of the sheet. Similarly, make all the momos.
3.) To stean the momos, boil some water in a deep pan and place a metal stand over the boiling water. Into this you need to place the steamer.
4.) Line the steamer with an aluminium foil sheet and grease it with some oil. Place the momos in the steamer and let them steam for 10-15 mins.
5.) Once you have done with it serve those spicy momos with chutney and enjoy!
